VIRGIN ATLANTIC AIRWAYS, OWNED BY SIR RICHARD BRANSON, operates long haul air travel routes between London and North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. The marketing goal was to showcase their "Upper Class Suites" seating and attract the new breed of air traveler. Since the original "Jet Set" crowd had its beginnings in the 1950's, we took some cues from the design of that era using bold simplistic shapes and lines. The large blades of the main wall offer a sense of definition while their slight pitch and spacing gives the illusion of the 'on the go' movement. The Virgin Atlantic colors were perfect for creating an eye-catching presence that would easily be identified on the show floor.
