Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to spearhead our operations team. Reporting directly to the company’s owners, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in refining our operational processes, enhancing capacity and quality, and setting high standards across the board. This role is pivotal in preparing our organization for its next phase of growth and excellence. This position requires a strong sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.

Department Oversight

The Operations Manager will oversee the following departments. Each Department Manager will report directly to the Operations Manager, who will also have oversight of their respective teams.

  • Project Management
  • Logistics
  • Fabrication
  • Engineering
  • Estimating & Sourcing
  • Graphics
  • Shipping & Special Accounts

This is a full-time position requiring on-site presence from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Flexibility to support overtime as needed, particularly during peak periods or to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all operational aspects, ensuring consistency and efficiency in our processes.
  • Oversee the creation and management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to the trade show and event industry, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Regularly review and update SOPs and KPIs to adapt to changing industry trends and company objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of project management, including design, estimating, engineering, sourcing, fabrication, logistics,  shipping, I&D and warehousing.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish and maintain high-quality standards and operational excellence. Be an active liaison between Ownership, Sales/Acct. Management and Operations, ensuring powerful collaboration and engagement.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team, fostering an environment of collaboration and high performance. Conduct operational performance reviews and identify areas for improvement.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks in operations, including supply chain disruptions and compliance issues. Establish contingency plans and procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Technology and Systems: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends. Evaluate and implement new systems, software, and automation tools to enhance operations, visibility, and data analytics.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare and manage the operations department budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources and improving billing practices. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role in the exhibit industry or similar industry.
  • Proven experience in developing SOPs and managing KPIs.
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proactive in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proven knowledge of performance evaluation metrics in a business setting
  • Strong skills in spreadsheets to analyze trends, costs, budgets, labor
  • Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
  • Preferred: Proven track history of continuous improvement implementations (Lean, 6S, 6 Sigma)

Salary Range

$75,000.00 – $100,000.00

  • Medical Plan: We contribute over $7,400 annually for our medical plan benefit! Creatacor offers 3 medical insurance plans provided by CDPHP. Plan benefits and costs vary, but all have options to cover the individual employee, employee & spouse, employee & children, or family and include prescription drug coverage. Creatacor contributes to all medical plans, with the remaining balance collected via weekly payroll deduction.
  • Dental Plan: Creatacor offers a dental insurance plan provided by Guardian. The plan has options to cover the individual employee, employee & spouse, employee & children, or family. Plan costs are collected via weekly payroll deduction.
  • Paid Leave: Employee’s Paid Leave consists of time to be used for vacation, personal business, or sick leave. Employees from their 1st to 5th anniversary will receive 20 days of Paid Leave. Starting with their 6th anniversary, they will accrue an additional day until their 20th anniversary, for a total of 35.
  • Holidays: Employees receive 9 paid holidays, including: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and 2 days each for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • Discretionary Bonus Plan: Full-time employees (non-commission) who have worked at least a quarter of the year are eligible for a discretionary performance bonus.
  • 401k Retirement Plan: Employees are eligible to participate in the company’s 401k retirement plan after 1 year of service. Creatacor matches 100% of the first 4% of your contributions.
  • Other Benefits: Creatacor also offers a flex spending account, life insurance, and Aflac insurance which includes: disability insurance, accident indemnity, hospital protection, and cancer indemnity. Life insurance and Alfac premiums are collected via weekly payroll deduction.
