The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded OSRAM SYLVANIA a 2009 ENERGY STAR® Sustained Excellence Award in recognition of its continued leadership in protecting our environment through energy efficiency. OSRAM SYLVANIA’s accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 31, 2009.
OSRAM SYLVANIA will be honored for its long-term commitment to energy efficiency. In 2008, the company cut its energy use by seven percent nationwide and introduced the SYLVANIA Micro-Mini, the smallest ENERGY STAR-rated compact fluorescent light bulb on the market. The 2009 Sustained Excellence Awards are given to a select group of organizations that have exhibited outstanding leadership year after year.
