Toy Fair Exhibit Design Case Study

Overview

The Toy Industry Association encourages exhibitors at the annual Toy Fair to include a Visual Merchandising section that allows attendees to experience a brand’s products in a meaningful, immersive way. In 2025, LEGO rose to this challenge with a thoughtfully designed 2,800-square-foot exhibit that delivered both impact and inspiration.

Designed to reflect the look and feel of New York City’s Central Park, the space created a familiar and inviting environment while serving as the ideal showcase for one of LEGO’s newest and most popular product lines: LEGO Botanicals.

Challenge

Launching an immersive Visual Merchandising experience at Toy Fair required an environment that would:

  • Create a recognizable, welcoming setting: Capture the familiar charm of Central Park while keeping the exhibit open and approachable.
  • Highlight LEGO Botanicals: Showcase brick-built plants, flowers, and trees as both creative builds and home décor.
  • Encourage exploration and discovery: Integrate product throughout the space so attendees could engage with the collection in a meaningful way.
  • Balance storytelling and product visibility: Surround the experience with displays that represented LEGO’s broader portfolio.

Creatacor provided full-service support for LEGO’s Toy Fair exhibit, managing design, fabrication, installation, dismantle, and project management from start to finish.

1. Immersive Central Park Environment

  • Park-inspired elements such as benches, post lights, stone structures, and decorative fencing created an instantly recognizable setting.
  • LEGO Botanicals were integrated throughout the space, encouraging visitors to explore and discover the product line organically.

2. Playful, Story-Driven Details

  • LEGO minifigures were creatively used as sculptural statues, adding personality and surprise throughout the exhibit.
  • Brick-built creatures brought charm to water features, helping the space feel lively and memorable.

3. Product Showcase and Brand Visibility

  • Branded display cases surrounded the park environment, highlighting LEGO’s diverse product lines and expanding the overall story of the brand.
  • Large, iconic LEGO bricks were suspended overhead, creating a striking visual beacon that drew attention from across the show floor and invited attendees into the experience.

Results

LEGO’s Toy Fair exhibit delivered a strong, immersive brand presence that:

  • Drew attention across the exhibit hall with bold overhead elements and a highly recognizable theme.
  • Increased engagement through exploration, encouraging visitors to interact with LEGO Botanicals throughout the environment.
  • Strengthened brand storytelling by pairing a familiar real-world setting with playful LEGO-built details.
  • Showcased LEGO’s product range with display cases that provided a comprehensive view of the brand’s offerings.

The exhibit also generated an exceptionally positive client response, with LEGO describing it as their best Toy Fair booth in 10, 20, or even 30 years. The project was further recognized with the Out-of-the-Box Award from The Toy Association.
