My Silhouette Experience

For over a year now, I have had the pleasure of partnering with Silhouette on a number of projects ranging from graphic design and production, to custom fabrication and installation. In that time, I have learned a great deal about their exceptional products and recently have gotten my first pair of Silhouettes!

For those of you who don’t know, Silhouette is an Austrian-based, family-owned eyewear manufacturing company with a passion for comfort, quality and style. For over 50 years, Silhouette has been designing and producing award-winning eyewear out of the highest quality materials. Their commitment to innovation has allowed them to produce a truly superior product, which I can now confidently attest to as a proud owner.

During my last visit to my optometrist’s office, I was overwhelmed by a large wall of frames I could choose from in selecting my next pair of glasses. After trying on several pairs, I chose one that I thought I was happy with. After wearing them for only a few days, I became annoyed with how heavy and bulky they were. I wore them only when I absolutely needed to and never enjoyed having them on.

Never, until last week, have I ever had an experience choosing glasses like the experience I had at Silhouette. There is so much that goes into choosing the right pair of glasses. When done right, it’s a highly personalized and fun experience! Click here to take a style test and learn more about colors, shapes and sizes that work best for you!

I worked with Ellen and I can’t emphasize enough the value of having her there to guide me through my options. The first thing that was taken into consideration was my eyebrow shape. The goal was to find a lens shape that formed a parallel curve to the curve of my eyebrow. According to Ellen, I have balanced eyebrows with a gentle curve. Next, we considered my eye and hair color and skin tone. I have hazel eyes, brown hair and a light complexion. She explained that warmer colors were definitely the way to go with my features. Face shape was next. Ellen said I have an oval-shaped face, which is a great shape to work with. People with oval shaped faces have many options to choose from when picking out new glasses.

Ellen explained that choosing the best glasses is all about providing balance. I learned how the right glasses can be used to trick other’s eyes into seeing the face as symmetrical. For example, the distance between my eyes is slightly narrow. Therefore, choosing a thinner bridge in a lighter color opens up this space providing the best look.

Here I am trying on a couple different rimless options. Both are screwless, hingeless, flexible and extremely lightweight allowing maximum comfort. Silhouette’s rimless collections are also 100% customizable. You can choose everything from lens shape and size, to color, to bridge size. This allows for a look that is truly your own that complements your unique features. Whether you’re 25 or 75, there’s a pair of rimless Silhouettes out there for you!

Silhouette also produces full rim glasses made of the same lightweight, high quality materials. I’ve always worn full rim glasses, but these were unlike any pair I’ve ever put on. Incredibly lightweight and comfortable, I immediately fell in love with these glasses. They have a rounded rectangular shape with a soft cat eye and beautiful color gradient. Ellen and I both agreed that this was the perfect pair of Silhouettes for me!

After having my Silhouettes for only one week, I don’t know how I settled for so much less for so long. My Silhouettes have completely changed the way I feel about wearing my glasses! Whether you’re playing golf, performing on stage, sitting in the office or enjoying your family at home, there is a perfect pair of Silhouettes waiting to enhance your life! I’m very proud to contribute to the marketing efforts of a company that produces such an exceptional product.
